I am Planet
Welcome to PlanetMike, my name is Planet and I will be your tour guide
for the rest of your trip. When I am asked to say something about myself
I am never really sure what to say. I could go on about how I am some
kind of computer geek who plays around on UNIX servers all day or maybe
talk about the multimedia project Unicorn or maybe I should't say
anything at all.
What I can tell you is this. My name is Mike and this is my Planet. I
started this website many years ago under a different name. Back before
the Planet was the Planet it was called Rotton Films. WTF is this you
ask, well it is simple. It was nothing more than a website for street
racers and party people. Nothing good was going to come from the site so
it was changed.
PlanetMike.Org became a major success project for me during what
we'll now call the Park Side years. This is when the site was the most
alive. Everything from "photo of the week" to "How to get on the front"
was started during this time period. When I went back to school for
computers I had met a few people not unlike myself and we partied till
the dawn's early light. Every weekend, all weekend for almost 3 years.
Ah yes, the crazy nights of the Planet Parties, oh so many memeories.
But just like any other good thing it can only last for so long and I am
done with the hard core partying. I will still continue to go out and
have a good time, maybe even a few drinks, but the 5th of Scotch in a
night days are long gone. I have started making changes in my
life that needed to be made. I feel that as I have gotten older what I
wanted from life has been altered. I no longer worry about how many
friends I have, what the Jones are up to or even what the party schedule
is. I just chill now and take in all the sights.
For me happiness no longer comes at the bottom of a bottle. It comes
from my friends, my family and little 30 second jolts of energy. When I
got the motorcycle I blasted off into a world I love. There is nothing
better than touring the world on a motorcycle. The sites, the smells.
LOVE IT! And to top off the touring, add the camping gear and head out
of Dodge for a weekend. I am a different kind of cowboy, but I pack my
saddles just the same.
I hope you all continue to stop by and check out the site. I will be
adding things over time, but this site is no longer a high priority for
me. I will keep the content up to date, but I will not be adding too
many new features anytime soon. Just need to finish up what I
started. I am learning some new things that are not computer related, and I look forward to sharing them with you soon, but for right now they are a
surprise.
I am free I am proud I am hopeful I am Planet!
